M.A., CEC Executive Coaching Certification

Katie is an organizational psychologist, consultant and executive coach serving corporate and individual clients in the areas of global talent management, leadership development, and culture, organization development and engagement strategies.

As a former Chief People Officer, Katie brings a deep expertise in human capital strategy and serves as a visionary thought partner to executive teams. At one firm, she improved hiring professionalism, hiring quality, diversity, onboarding, and talent retention which resulted in increased client satisfaction for the firm. In several firms, she has redesigned performance management and communication systems to increase company performance and reduce legal exposure.

As a Talent Executive, she has led world-class talent functions in large corporations and achieved best in class succession and diversity results. In a global financial services firm, she drove creation of a talent and mobility strategy with the Management Committee, Board and Regulators, increasing successor readiness, bench diversity and depth, lower attrition of top talent and decreased human capital costs. The Board Chair (former Fed Chair) said it was the best talent management process he had ever seen. In addition, she created behavioral competencies and derailers for multiple levels, and developed four-tiered leadership development programs and introduced coaching to ensure long-term leadership excellence. At IBM, Katie’s work on a flagship leadership development program resulted in 4 international awards for excellence in leadership development.

As a research psychologist, she has led engagement and competency initiatives, driving up engagement to new highs and creating competency models to propel companies toward their desired future state. In her first job at IBM, she drove an 8% increase in engagement for 25,000 employees (PC Mfg) in one year by improving first-line leader quality, the promotion criteria and process, working conditions and accountability for leadership performance, thereby successfully turning around the lowest engagement in IBM history.

Katie loves her work and is continually fulfilled by helping leaders to reach their full potential. The positive impact on companies who invest in their talent is a recurring result in Katie’s portfolio of business.

  • “We hired Katie over a year ago to work with our Executive Team to improve communication and maximize our leadership abilities. Katie has had a significant impact on the team by helping us identify our strengths, reduce blind-spots and become more self-aware leaders. She helped the team address issues individually and as a team, and provided us the tools and training to continue on the path to better communication and high performance. I have watched the team transform and become more connected since Katie began working with us.

“Personally, her straight-forward, kind approach has allowed me to see myself in a different light and has helped me grow into a more effective and direct organizational leader. She has pushed me to be the best version of myself and has encouraged me to reach my potential as an HR executive. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to work with Katie and plan to continue work together in the future.”

    — Lauren Budesheim, Head of HR, Soleno Therapeutics

  • “I brought Katie in to coach an executive with a difficult personality, poor communication skills, low EI and self-awareness, who left a wake of bruised employees and resignations behind him. She spent time to gain his trust, to teach him about the value of emotional intelligence and to establish a solid relationship for deep work. She is not afraid to give direct feedback to target root cause issues, peeling back the onion in digestible layers. Everyone has seen positive change and resulting business improvement, and we have been quite pleased with the steady progress.”
